Lukaskirche celebrated its fortieth anniversary in 2007. The ravages of time now urgently require renovation activities. The roof and the windows are not tight any more, the electric installations do not meet the technical and safety standards.

Why the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung funded the Lukaskirchengemeinde in Gerlingen:
Churches and community centers are gathering places. It is important to the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung that they remain pleasant and inviting.

The steel girders of the bell cage have gone rusty, which makes the concrete burst off. The sound system has to be renewed.

Works will start in July 2009, and everybody hopes that first Sunday in Advent the church service shall be celebrated in the newly renovated church. All in all the cost for the renovation will amount to EUR 200.000.-. The Berthold Leibinger Stiftung will support the parish's renovation project.
