At the award ceremony of the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung again users, developers and scientists as well as of politicians, journalists and representatives of organizations gathered in Ditzingen. 250 enjoyed the ceremony at the headquarters of the Trumpf Group and the following reception.

Associate Professor of Philosophy, Vanderbilt University and Berthold Leibinger Fellow, American Academy in Berlin

Gregg Horowitz’s area of specialization in the field of philosophy extends to aesthetics and the philosophy of art history, cultural theory, and philosophy and psychoanalysis. His most recent publication, Sustaining Loss: Art and Mournful Life (Stanford University Press, 2001), explores the intertwining of the living and the dead in art and the eerie fascination it holds for modern philosophical aesthetics. Dr. Horowitz has also edited and co-written The Wake of Art: Criticism, Philosophy, and the Ends of Taste (Gordon and Breach Publishers, 1998) and has contributed essays to a number of philosophy publications and academic journals, including The Journal of Philosophy, Inquiry, and Constellations.
