Research involves developing the foundations for later technological change, but often involves a long lead time before results are seen. That’s why the Berthold Leibinger Zukunftspreis recognizes outstanding milestones in research, in this case, concerning the application or generation of laser light, with an award purse of € 30,000. It is given out every two years together with the Berthold Leibinger Innovationspreis.
There is no application process for the Berthold Leibinger Zukunftspreis. The jury selects the winner independently from applications and recommendations.
