Fritz-Hüttinger-Chair of Microelectronics
The Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg has named the chair for microelectronics at the Department of Microsystems Engineering “Fritz-Hüttinger-Chair of Microelectronics”. Thereby the university pays tribute to the great entrepreneurial personality of Fritz Hüttinger, the founder of Hüttinger Elekronik GmbH. The foundation will support the professorship for a period of ten years with an annual endowment of 100,000 euros.
Students and doctoral candidates at the IMTEK profit from prizes and grants which are given to excellent young scientists in the field of electrical engineering and power electronics. Internships and field trips are also being offered.
The foundation also sponsors activities to win pupils for technical and scientific subjects. These are e.g. taster weeks at universities, partner events with schools, and workshops that help understand science and research in public reception.
