A series to support the transatlantic relationship in Baden-Württemberg

On the project

"Head-to-Head: A Meeting of Inspired Minds" is a series of events created by the American Academy in Berlin to strengthen the transatlantic dialogue in Baden-Württemberg. Renowned US-Americans use this platform to discuss current cultural and political issues with a broad audience in Stuttgart. The events are open to the public and free of admission.

The Berthold Leibinger Stiftung has supported the series since 2012/2013.

The project is furthermore supported by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, Dr. Dirk Ippen, as well as the Georg von Holtzbrinck GmbH.

Co-operation partner in Stuttgart: Deutsch-Amerikanisches Zentrum/James-F.-Byrnes-Institut e.V. and the Hospitalhof Stuttgart Evangelisches Bildungszentrum.

Berthold Leibinger Fellowship

The American Academy annually awards fellowships to outstanding scholars, writers, and artists from the United States, one of which is the Berthold Leibinger Fellowship. The Berthold Leibinger Stiftung has supported this fellowship since 2006/2007. The fellows, selected scholars from the humanities, politics, art or social science, come to Berlin to work on and to present their work in front of a critical German audience. Selected fellows then travel to Stuttgart as part of the Head-to-Head series to extend the transatlantic dialogue to Baden-Württemberg.
