Quantentechnologie verstehen – zwischen Wissenschaft, Gesellschaft und Kultur

(Deutsch) 2025 ist das International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ2025) – ein Anlass, um über eine der spannendsten Technologien unserer und der kommenden Zeit zu reden. Quantentechnologien eröffnen neue Möglichkeiten in Kommunikation, Informationsverarbeitung und Messtechnik, stellen aber auch Fragen nach ihrem Einfluss auf unser Verständnis von Physik und Natur, die in unserer Kultur und Gesellschaft auch 125 Jahre nach Planck’s Einführung der Quantelung nach wie vor von der klassischen Physik geprägt ist.

Im Mittelpunkt dieser Leibinger Begegnung stehen grundlegende Ideen ebenso wie aktuelle Entwicklungen. Dabei geht es um Chancen und Herausforderungen, historische Bezüge und die Frage, welche Perspektiven sich für die Gesellschaft in einer Zukunft mit Quantentechnologien eröffnen.

(English) 2025 is the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ2025), providing a valuable opportunity to discuss one of the most exciting and transformative technologies of our time. While quantum technologies are opening up new possibilities in communication, information processing and measurement technology, they are also prompting us to question their influence on our understanding of physics and nature. Even 125 years after Planck introduced quantum theory, classical physics still shapes our culture and society.

This 'Leibinger Begegnungen' event will explore the fundamentals as well as the latest developments. The event will discuss the opportunities and challenges, the history, and how societies deal with the challenges and opportunities presented by quantum technologies today and in the future.
